New Projects

This is one of my current knitting projects.

Yes, I said I was finishing up some old projects, but I started a new one during my trip to the north. To that I say “So what”. It’s easy and mindless, good for travel where your mother does not ever stop talking about stuff you have absolutely no interest in or wish she hadn’t told you (“do you really think at your age you should still be……..”fill in the blank with anything about your current life) At least I still have a mother. So many of my friends don’t. And yes, I know that my daughters will say similar things about me in their blogs 20 years from now. Maybe they already say them, I don’t know. But it will happen.

I have never done any entrelac knitting. Entrelac has never called me out til now. I am working on the Market Squares bag by Linda Cyr from Bags-A Knitter’s Dozen, using numerous hot colors of Cascade 220 that jumped on me in the local Ben Franklin during their 25% off everything sale in February. These are not my usual colors. No way. They are almost nauseating. The dye in the yarn is eating up the skin on my fingertips and giving me bloody hangnails. But I am enjoying the knit and it will make a felted bag that I know at least 3 people will fight over. In my own family.

You know who you are.

I have been unusually social lately. I am a known introvert and hermit (INTP for those of you into workplace Meyer’s-Briggs test fad of some years ago). Tomorrow I will see the very fun and crafty Robin for lunch and a possible weaving book acquisition. She and I are meeting up for lunch at Panera as she is in town for business.

And, Suzie the Fiberdog is having a coed sleepover:

Rocket is visiting again! I am minding the shop while Kathy is away on a semi-vacation for a few days and Rocket is keeping me company there and at home.

Thanks for reading!
