The slipcover she is finished! To explain, the rectangular pieces are pinned together right sides together and fitted to the chair parts, seams are marked, extra is trimmed away. The pieces are machine basted together, checked right side out for fit, then sewn together. The skirt was an afterthought, I think it looks alright and I didn’t really have any choice because I was so close on the fabric amounts…only a few scraps left. The total cost of this project was:
thrifted ugly chaise $25
Fabric $24 ($3 per yard at Garden Ridge in 2 yard pieces vs. $24 per yard at a discount fabric store…SCORE)
Cording $3 (100 ft. package of clothesline cord from Ollie’s Outlet rather than “home dec cotton cord” at JoAnn)
Thread, buttons, pillow front fabric, pillow stuffing etc. from stash. I did buy those new scissors when they were on sale. Nothing can beat Gingher metal scissors for cutting home dec fabric.
About 15 hours of work.
Photos from iPhone, sorry for the blurry.
Now for my re-ward….

It looks wonderful!
Thanks Christina!!

It looks so good! Congratulations! What a great deal on everything too. Thanks for posting the step by step photos. I like to look at as many of those as I can in books and online because I’m planning to make slipcovers for my sofa and loveseat. Luckily, we have a discount dec fabric store that sells fabric for $1-$3 per yard. I just need to find the right fabric. Great idea about the clothesline cord.
Cheryl it is definitely doable, just take your time and if you are like me take lots of breaks. Good luck!

P.S. Congrats on the boots! I’m a boot girl too. There’s nothin’ like wearing a great pair of boots.
It looks amazing. You’ve done an incredible job. I think you well deserve your new boots.
Thank you Chrissy!

OMG woman! You did a fantastic job!
So just boots? What about a cowboy to go with them?
Yeah no new cowboys here. I have enough trouble with the one I have. You could definitely make a slipcover!

Wonderful job on the slipcover- i tip my hat (not a cowgirl hat, tho). I found them to be a major pain to make and gave up on mine. But I’m so happy you postedthe boots! I had a collegue long ago who named his daughter Nocona (yes, after the boot) anld i was trying to remember it the other day!
Kimmen
Well that would definitely be a unique name for a daughter! Thanks for reading and commenting!

Oh, serious boot envy! They look great BTW. Do you think if I just read about your slipcover creation a few more times I’ll be boot worthy too?
Great job on it!
Theresa, everyone is boot worthy!! You are definitely more cowboy than I am although I have actually ridden a horse once.
Alice, I loved that chair even before the makeover. Now I am having chair envy!! You did a wonderful job! Barb
Thank you Barb!
