I remember when I started my blog.  I sat in my kitchen very nervous about writing something that other people might see.  I wanted to write about my crafts in journal form, especially my new weaving hobby. Now that I don’t weave so much so I feel that I am no longer the “Loom Lady”. I still want to weave and will get back to it eventually.

I have been working on some sewing projects and a couple of knitting.  Promiscuous crafting perhaps? Really it has to do with my neck problems and how I have to move from place to place and change positions frequently to keep my various body parts from pain or lifelessness.

One thing that has taxed my sternocleidomastoids is this slipcover I have been working on for a thrifted chaise that I have had in my bedroom for over a year.  I just have been using the nasty thing covered with an old quilt but no more I say, no more.

Get a book that assumes you know nothing about what you are about to do. This one is great.

Make loads of covered welting, more than you will ever need. Then make some more.

Use the old cushion cover as a pattern. Rip it apart first, very satisfying.

Ta dah. The loose fabric pieces are the blocking for the actual chair cover.

The chaise is for this nook in my newly floored and painted hideaway.

The other side of the room. See the Emperor at rest under the heat vent?

Weaving anyone?

What a beautiful space! Fine enough for an Emperor certainly and his staff. And hats off to you for the slipcover, it looks perfect! Suzie looks like she’d bring a whole lot of her own sunshine to any space, day or night. Pets and hugs all around.

That should be professional. Duh. Stupid spell check!

  4. What a wonderful work space, especially with all of those windows! Great job on the slipcover, I’ve thought about tackling something like that, but to be honest, I was too intimidated to do it. Thanks for walking us through it. Enjoy your newly decorated space!
