1.30.11 Thoughts for the day…

There are only two kinds of people who are really fascinating: people who know absolutely everything, and people who know absolutely nothing. ~ Oscar Wilde
Ain’t that the truth. I love Oscar for random quotes.

My car is on its last day of state inspections. Oops. I have done this before. I will pay for it by having to wait in the inspection place tomorrow along with 15 other people, 14 of them smokers.

Been knitting mostly. Have finished the back and button band side of the wool cardigan. I can’t wait for it to be finished. This is my kind of sweater. A cardigan, shapeless and warm.

The Granny Cheerful has almost outgrown herself. She is a huge center panel and some smaller half sized grannies to be her minions. I think some tiny grannies are in order too. I am not sure of the design even now. I could change my mind at any time.

The scarf warp is moving along. Along those lines I had to move the loom into another room, away from Suzie the Fiberdog’s bed. She is terrified of “loomsound”. Any sound. Even the sound of the bench. She thinks the world is ending I just know it.

You have to get into “Nutsie“. You can dial up any decade or year and listen to the greatest hits. You will be amazed at the lyrics that you have stored away in your brain. No kidding. I must have billions of cells devoted to Pink Floyd alone. And I can’t believe I can sing along to “Free Bird” and Bob Marley one after another.

Hmm. I wonder what Oscar would think about that…

1.21.11 Over the Rainbow

I think I might try this! Although my arms are tired just looking at the picture.

It looks like she is happy to be using up some rather crazy yarns don’t you think? Holding together 15 strands at one time. I know I have those. But in the fine print the project pdf indicates: “Skill Level 2: Some basic knitting & woodworking experience needed”. When was the last time you saw that on a project? I wonder what Skill Level 3 requires?

Maybe I should finish my other rainbows first.

1.16.11 What the…?

Is that weaving?

Rayon scarf warp

And *gasp* crochet too?

Granny Cheerful

Yep, I am not sure what happened this weekend. The scarf is the WEBS 1450 ypp rayon. The afghan is from leftovers of former felting projects, all wool.

Mr. Lady continues his work. Like fingernails on a blackboard this scraping is making me shiver but the trim is white and clean.
